MyCheckFree.com is awful. I've been paying bills with it for months/years. I tried to add a credit card account to my profile to take advantage of 5% discounts on utility bills, and I was able to add my account. However, I am unable to use this account to pay for any bills.
I then clicked on the "chat with customer support" link to talk with them. The chat window is not available for Internet Explorer versions 8 and 9, nor FireFox 7+. They browser window that tells me my browser is not supported then instructs me to call customer support, but they do not provide a phone number. I searched on the mycheckfree.com site and did not find any phone numbers. I actually found the customer support phone number on an external site.
MyCheckFree.com is Amish in terms of technology. I am searching for alternatives to this middle-school developed website to help make my bill paying easier.

I use check free and I couldn't say enough good about it, except they leave default information, and their customer service doesn't seem to mention if you call and have had a problem, that they do indeed, charge a fee to users if they bounce a payment. I bounced a payment and it was because I hadn't paid enough attention when setting it up to edit the defaulted as soon as date already in there, I was attempting to set it up for the end of the month. MY FAULT, so I incurred 30.00 twice in bounce fees with my bank as well as a 15.00 bounce fee with mycheckfree.com I have been a member of mycheckfree for years and have had small issues like when I set up a payment and it was more than I thought I had set it up for, or when I set up a payment and wanted it as soon as possible but couldn't change the bank because I had already said pay and it went right into pending and therefore editing the bank was no longer a option because I had just set it up but those times I had no issues with a bounce or nsf. This time I didn't realize my mistake and ended up paying the bank 30.00 for the 2 times it attempted to pay my bill, that I had no money to pay immediately, and was trying to pay/set up pay for the end of the month. When I covered my bounce fees I then noticed, the mycheckfreensffee of 15.00 withdrawn from my checking after all that. I needless to say wasn't happy however, I am guessing it's a small price to pay but bottom line that makes this mistake of my own fault VERY costly. I still don't know how much fees I will incur on the bill end. For bouncing a payment twice there. I still feel like the fee was fair for them, I just called and implored them to pass on the fact that I have had this issue and would prefer they stop leaving a default bit of information, such as first earliest date, bank, and dollar amount. This way I would have to choose, rather than miss one item and bounce as I did. I knew that was how it was every time I used it and for the many years, and bills I've paid I haven't made but 3 mistakes, and only one incurred me excessive fees. I know that banks charge fees, and I constantly was aware but it (the odds) caught up to me. I hope my call to them, not to mention this note as I will be emailing it to them.... helps myself as well as anyone that may use the service in the future if they implement my wishes for they will be serving their consumers better that way. In my opinion anyways.

I have been very disappointed with this company. My bills do not get paid, when I find that bils did not get paid I must wait for the next billing date and can not pay immediately. The over due bills become even more delinquent. This is ruining my credit rating. I have the money, I want the bills paid and I can not get it done. If I pay independently the overdue amount is still taken from my account at payment date which has me paying the same bill twicw and becoming short of cash. What a mess! I.too, wish I had seen this site before I got mixed up with this company. They are also difficult to find on line. I hate it!

Have used MyCheckFree for a number of years and love it. When I set up an account with the wrong utility company and paid them, MyCheckfree straightened out the mess I created and returned my erroneous payment to my bank account within two days.

I made the HUGE mistake of signing up with them to pay my Talbot's bill. Then I read the reviews. I'm never going to use my account....too scary. The person who signed me up was dumb as a rock and rude as a goose on caffeine. That should have been a tip-off. THX to people who posted the terrible reviews...You're saving other people time, money, and ulcers.

Until yesterday, my only problem with MyCheckFree was that vendors continued to withdraw from their service, i.e. Mobil/Exxon. However, yesterday I received two e-mails from them saying my account was suspended and giving me a number to call. I set up my account with them in July 2003 and, at that time put in the information for my sole checking account. I've not changed the information since. When I called, I found: 1. the electric bill that should have been paid through them on August 12 had not been paid and 2. they claimed this was due to having put it through on an account number rejected by my bank. Since my bank account is in very good standing, I asked what the probelm was. After some time, the agent said I had given two bank account numbers when I set up my account with MyCheckFree originally and the number they put through had been refused for payment. Therefore they are reversing the payment to the electric company which was due on August 15. Of course, they waited until August 16 to inform me they had a problem. I asked how they had obtained this second bank account number and they insisted I'd entered it upon setting up my account with them. The two account numbers they had both had double zeroes as the first two digits. I never enter my account number with zeroes at the beginning and, since I only had one account, I would not have entered another account number. They said the only way it could have happened was for me to have given them that number, so, essentially they took no responsibility while inferring I was lying. Then they said I probably changed the account number when I made the payment. I basically follow the same procedure each time I pay a vendor through them, click on PAY, verify the information and record the corfirmation numbers and letters. The only thing I ever change is the date as I like to pay ahead of the due date.
Now, not only did they state my electric bill would not be paid but they made no offer to pay the late fee which with this company is 5% of the amount due.
However, on talking with a representative from the electric company, I found the payment has not been reversed as yet, so, when I made a duplicate payment by phone, I'm now showing a credit for the account. If MyCheckFree does reverse the payment this should prevent a late charge but I had to pay a $3.95 telephone payment charge.
Needless to say, I'll not trust MyCheckFree to make any payments for me in the future. They kept me on the phone for over 50 minutes, most of that on hold, insulted me by inferring I was to blame for this whole fiasco and made no offer to make it right. All they had to do was put it through on the correct account, the one they have been accessing since 2003 and not reverse the payment to the electric company. An apology from them? Forget it!

Here is the customer service # that Lakeland Electric sent me for them, 1-800-564-9184 . Maybe this will help some of you. I called them to discontinue their service and they act like they are some top security company. Good Luck!

I've been using MyCheckFree for about 7 1/2 years and I love it! Every bill I paid through here has gone through successfully I know what days I get paid so I log in and schedule them to be paid the same day I get paid. Can't get any simplier than that!

I have never had a problem with a late or missed payment using mycheckfree. I see that many of the complaints seem to be with electric or gas companies. I would bet that the company dropped mycheckfree and that is the root of the problem.
I've been on this long enough that I was on in the days when the credit card companies were members. They all quit because they weren't getting rich on late fees any longer. It's very rare that you find a visa or mastercard bill on here any more just because of that reason. I LOVE mycheckfree!!

I wish I'd seen this review site before signing up most of my bills. I have had no email notifications but got 3 bills past due, due to "lag time"
between signing up for paperless and MyCheckFree receiving my bills. How am I supposed to know how much to pay and when it's due
that month if I go paperless and don't get a bill in the mail? Customer service said I had to contact all my billers myself and check with all of them. But isn't that the point of paperless billing?? They asked enough questions and got my info fast enough - why does it take so long for them to put it to use?? I am cancelling all my bills thru them.

I would like to enroll in the MyCheckFree process so I can pay my Walmart account online, since nothing can be done by telephone. The problem is twofold: First, it is all very confusing to me and I cannot figure out how to navigate my way through the website. It is due in 3 days. Second, I am pysically challenged and I cannot get to the nearest Wlamart to pay my bill personally. All I want to do is to pay $100.00 dollars on my account. If there is anyone out there who would care to assist me, please contact me through my email: deserbradley@yahoo.com. This, of course, includes anyone affiliated with the Walmart stores. Thank you.

I have been using MyCheckFree for more than 10 years and I wish all my pay billers would sign up, they would never have a
late check if they did! For those of you who are relatively new to this service, give them a chance. This is a new company
that had taken over MyCheckFree. When MyCheckFree gets a biller they respond via ones email address. I hope they never go out
of business. And they are free! What more can you ask. I notice when I have a screw (excuse me) up it's always my fault.
I tend to forget where I put that scrap of paper with my email name. If you need to call them here is their number (free also)
1-800-564-9184 or you can contact them at: ebillinfo@checkfree.com

I have been using Mycheckfree for about four years with no problems till yesterday. i am now four months behind, owe the electric company $ 500. , and have numerous late charges. I have not gotten any emails or reminder emails to pay bill. Supposed to get email every month that a bill was due. I so relied on mycheckfree to notify me of a bill that I never even realized i had not gotten a bill in over four months.
Than there is the issue of how to get a hold of mycheckfree.com. No phone listed till I did a search, found one. The # is 800-564-9184 but they close early evening.
Not too happy i have not gotten notices !!

I set up an account to pay my WalMart Credit Card online. I tried to access it afterwards but it told me log in info was wrong. Tried to use forget ID and password but it told me the security question answer was wrong. I think I know my own fathers name since I am a Jr! Walmart makes enough money to handle their own payments. Very disappointed!
