I was in my local Bank of America this AM & there were 9 of us in line & only 1 clerk behind the counter. When I finally got my turn I commented I had never seen only 1 person before. She said we are trying to change the way people bank, have you tried bill pay? Yes but some transactions you can't do on line. I think Bank of America should rethink this new policy. The BofA Bill Pay Center is a disastrous user-unfriendly feature.

I have 3 BofA credit cards plus a checking account and a saving account. I know that when I schedule a payment for one of the credit cards I will 4 need pieces of information: credit card number, due date, statement balance, and source of the funds.

Now, say I want to pay BofA credit card number 1. I will take the following steps:
A. from the list of my 5 accounts (3 credit cards, 1 checking account, 1 saving account), I click the one that says card 1, which takes me to the page showing due date, and statement balance. In this page there is a bottom that says MAKE PAYMENT.
B. I click MAKE PAYMENT but instead of allowing to type the amount due, the due date, and the source of funds for credit card 1, it takes me to the Bill Pay Center where the information of all 3 credits cards (each with its own due dates and amount dues) is shown. The result:I get completely disoriented, forget which credit card I was working on, and easily make mistake mixing all three credit cards.

When I want to pay BofA credit card number 1, as soon as I click MAKE PAYMENT, I want information only of credit card 1, not of all my BofA account. In my opinion, BofA should imitiate the Chase web site: I have 5 credit cards, 1 checking account, and 1 saving account. Never ever have I made I mistake using the Chase web site in spite of having more accounts. With the BofA Bill Pay Center I am constantly
mixing up the different credit cards; indeed a poorly designed websit.

Today I had to write a paper check for 3 water meter accounts so they
wouldn't shut off the water, and tried to cancel the
bill pay payment scheduled for Wednesday Mar. 21 just this time, so as not to
pay twice. I absolutely could not
find a way to accomplish it. I even defaulted to deleting the pay-to
account, but could not do that either.

I could not make my way through that melange of screens, none of whom
have titles. Go to the "pay to/pay from" is so sloppy an instruction
that refers only to a tag to be found on the (unknown) page, "click on
Payments" where?.
The telephone help is constantly a "busy" tone.I have three more days
to try to resolve this.
Finally I was able to delete the account, not just the payment, but upon logging in later, the "deleted" account was right where it has been all along, payment pending. I still have a possibility of double payment.

This was not simple. I could not find how to log on to pay the bill. Just kept going around in circles.

Do not use BOA bill pay. They DO NOT notify you if the bankcheck is never cashed. It will post to your account as normal however, late fees could be piling up and you would not find out until the next month. Customer service was rude and I got screwed. Have moved to a credit union and have no problems

I have been a BOA customer since 86 and have been using the bill pay feature in my mortgages and other bills from my BOA credit card. They have recently changed their policies and are not allowing this anymore. I am extremely disappointed with their tactics. They are not loyal to the customers that have been with them for a long time. I could understand if they phased the service out or, did not offer to new customers. I am sure that I am now in the market for a new bank / credit card.

I have used both BofA and Suntrust online bill pay and Suntrust is far superior. With BofA, the money is taken out of your account on the day you ask for it to be paid, with Suntrust the money is not taken out until the check is cashed. With Suntust, I can become concerned if a check is not cashed within a reasonable amount of time because it will still be shown in my account. Recently, I asked BofA online to send a payment to my home rent property manager. I asked for this 30 days in advance. Since the money was taken out of my account on the day I asked for payment to be made, I thought the rent was paid. On the 5th of the month I received a call from the property manager that I had not paid the rent. In contacting BofA, I was told the payment was sent out on June 28, plenty of time for the check to be received by July 1 (really, 3/4 days??). It is now July 7, and my rent is not paid. A stop payment was put on the check, but the money is still not back in my account so I can pay the rent. BofA has agreed to pay the late fee, but if I do not pay the rent by July 9, the property manager will start eviction proceedings. BofA is bill pay is great if they do not have to issue a check to the payee. Hopefully the money will be put back into my account prior to Friday so that I can pay my rent. This is a huge embarrassment for me. I will no longer pay my rent with BofA online bill pay.

I have had the most stressful terrible experience with both target on line bill pay, customer service and BOA. I would not recommend them to anyone. First I had the hardest time accesing their online bill pay sytem. It seemed to be unavailable a high % of the time.
Additionally I needed assistance due to my marriage falling apart which caused financial hardship, and my mom taking ill and me being primary
caregiver and financial support for her as well as now marriage situations. Their website said to speak with them reagarding this to make arrangements for payments. I contacted them. They said I WAS NOT ELIGIBLE for arrangements and needed to continue as directed. I tried to speak with management to explain my situation, etc. No one cared. I ended up in collections with Target and ultimately they ended up serving me with a supoena to go to court. I ended up paying them off through a TPA - Collection Agency, but still this has not been applied per Target. A nightmare in its own. Target is so huge, as well as BOA the customer service care in my case/opinion is unfortuanetly gone.

I can NEVER get on to your billpay, ALWAYS having problems with your site saying you're unavailable,try again later....
doesn't matter what time of day or night, weekend or weekdays, ALWAYS unavailable. Shame, I have been using bill pay for years with you but my other bank doesn't frustrate me. I get on the very FIRST time. I'm not the only one having problems with your site. Time to change to a dependable bank with better I T access.

I used BOA Online Bill Pay to pay my BOA Mortgage.They took the money out on october 2 today is October 20 they STILL have not creditde my mortgage account. I have called nearly every day and I have ELEVEN e-mail responses from them ALL with different reasons why this happened . I have now even gone to the actual BOA branch and they said they can't explain what happen. BOA mortgage will not credit my account because they said they never received it. BOA Online Bill Pay will not put it back in my account because they say it was electronically paid. My mortgage is now late for the first time in twelve years. I have spent well over fifteen hours on the phone and on hold. I have been hung up on twice. I have been using online bill pay for three years and never one problem.But after this with it being another BOA comany. I will never use Online bill pay again.
Once they take your money ..... its gone you better hope it shows up where it should. If I ever get this solved I will be done with them.
BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used them for three years with not one problem!!!!

For the most part the bill pay works very well. The only problem i have with this service is that they show the amount as "delivered today" without deducting it from your account balance. If you don't remember that a schedule bill is due to be paid today, this may cause you to think that you have more money than you actually have in your account.
I don't know if its intentional to get more user fees or its some other issue

I agree with the reviewer, for the most part the bill pay service works fairly well and is fairly easy to use. However, they do have problems making the correct payments on time, when you first setup a new payee. If you have multiple checking accounts, you also will have difficulty getting all of your checking accounts to show up. They are also very slow at updating their web site, for instance they still show SEARS as NOT Allowing e-bills. These problem areas have cost me dearly with my wife's Sears Account. They used to be really good at taking responseabillaty for errors and worked hard to get the account fixed. However, as late they have changed and not for the good. Now rather then working hard to correct the error, the representative for the most part, just tells you that you need to call the company involved (Big or Small) and work things out for your self.

I'm seriously thinking of changing to another Bank, even though it will be a big hassel.

Here is my experience. Most of the time, it has worked. However, I have had my car insurance cancelled, a notice to threaten shut off of my water, and a phone call from my car mortgage co. that my bill wasn't paid. I have 48 hours to get to the water co. to pay my bill in person. Oh, and Bank of America also paid my power bill twice and my home equity loan twice. Apparently, they do not do drug testing. My credit is threatened and my water is going to be shut off thanks to Bank of America. If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
